Job Description

Project Title: "Technical assistance to support NAEB's capacity in monitoring the implementation of projects and in the "Feeding the Cities" program"

General description of the position:

  • Support the NAEB SPIU in planning and coordination of projects implementation;
  • Support projects monitoring and reporting while ensuring a sound management of the EU contractual rules and procedures;
  • Support the exchange of relevant information and best practices and facilitate national steering committees gathering Project Implementers and EU-EAC MARKUP Regional window;
  • Support in representation and advocacy for projects and “Feeding the Cities” program;
  • Support in the development and implementation of “Feeding the Cities” Program.

Expert category:

  • Cat. II (>6 years of experience);

Qualifications and skills required:

  • At least Master Degree in agronomy, agriculture economics, agribusiness, project management, agricultural sciences or closely related subjects.

General professional experience:

  • At least 6 years of proven experience in the agriculture export value chain development, public investment projects related to market development and employment generation;
  • Proven experience in project design, monitoring and evaluation, economic and financial management of agriculture projects;
  • Proven good knowledge of EU procedures;
  • Proven knowledge of Government systems;
  • Strong coordination, organization and networking skills.

Specific professional experience:

  • Proven experience in project management capacity building;
  • Proven experience in organisational strengthening, strategic management, administration structures or equivalent structures in the private sector;
  • Experiences in EU funded project management would be an asset.

Language skills:

  • Excellent English language report writing and communication skills;
  • Be conversant with Kinyarwanda language is mandatory;
  • Knowledge of French would be an asset.
